Karl Alzner (Canada 27) skates away from Jordan Schroeder (USA 29) behind the Canadian net. Team Canada defeated Team USA 4-1 on Friday, January 4, 2008, during the World Junior Championship at CEZ Arena in Pardubice, Czech Republic.  The result put Team Canada into the gold medal game and Team USA into the bronze medal game. Alzner plays for the Calgary Hitmen and was drafted fifth overall in 2007 by the Washington Capitals while Schroeder plays for the USNTDP Under-18 team and is committed to the University of Minnesota.  He will not be eligible for the draft until 2009.
